Guide 1

Business numbers, CR numbers and personal IDs

Saudi CR Pro handles business identifiers only: a 10-digit commercial registration (CR) number or a business unified national number.

Personal national IDs and residency numbers are a different class of identifier. They are not supported, and you should not send them to this service.

Keep the two kinds of number in separate fields in your own systems. A business number identifies an entity; a personal ID identifies a person.

Understanding published Ministry records

Results come from official published Ministry of Commerce records imported into our database. Every result shows the data period and lookup time.

SaudiCRpro is an independent service. Results reflect the published release, rather than changes made after that release.

For current official status or a certified extract, use the Ministry of Commerce inquiry service.

Guide 3

Reading found and not-found results

Found means the number appears in the snapshot. It does not prove that the business is active.

Not found means the number is absent from that snapshot. A newer registration, or a record the source does not publish, will not appear.

Treat not found as a prompt for further checks, never as proof that a business does not exist.

Guide 4

Where snapshot updates come from

The source publishes registry data on a quarterly schedule. An administrator imports a file, maps its columns explicitly and records the period and the exact source URL.

An import goes live only when an administrator activates it. A failed import leaves the active snapshot unchanged.

The active period is always shown beside results and in the API metadata.

Guide 5

Your first server-side API call

Create a key in your dashboard, then call GET /api/v1/lookup/{number} from your server with either Authorization: Bearer or x-api-key.

Handle both found and not-found responses, and store the snapshot period with the result you keep.

Do not call the API from browser code.

Guide 6

Key security and limits

Keys are shown once. Store them in server-side secrets, never in source control, browser code or URLs. Rotate a key if you suspect exposure.

The API allows 60 requests per minute per account and a cumulative ceiling of 1,000,000 admitted lookup/search requests shared across keys and entitled sessions. The ceiling does not reset.

The demo uses shared global, daily and hourly fair-use protections. If a request is rate-limited, follow Retry-After when provided.
